Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the Should I Quit mobile app. By using Should I Quit, you agree to these Terms.
1. The Service
Should I Quit helps you track how work feels over time, reflect on patterns, and think through whether to stay in or leave your job. The app may include workday logging, trend views, reminders, and an optional AI coach.
2. Not Professional Advice
Should I Quit does not provide medical, mental health, legal, financial, employment, or career-counseling advice.
The app may help you reflect, but it cannot decide for you. You are responsible for your career, financial, legal, health, and employment decisions. Before making high-stakes decisions, consider speaking with appropriate professionals or trusted people in your life.
If you are in crisis, feel unsafe, or may harm yourself or others, contact local emergency services or a crisis hotline immediately. Should I Quit is not an emergency service.
3. Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years old to use Should I Quit. If you are under the age of majority where you live, you may use the app only with permission from a parent or legal guardian.
4. Your Data and Content
You are responsible for the information you enter into the app, including entries, notes, coach messages, and images.
You grant us the limited rights needed to operate the app, including processing your content to provide app features and, when you use the AI coach, sending relevant content to our AI provider to generate responses.
You should not enter or upload content that you do not have the right to use, including confidential employer information, trade secrets, or private information about other people.
5. AI Coach
The AI coach is generated by an AI model and may be incomplete, inaccurate, or inappropriate. It may misunderstand your situation or miss important context.
Do not rely on AI coach responses as professional advice. Use your own judgment and consult qualified professionals where appropriate.
You agree not to use the AI coach to:
- Break the law or encourage others to break the law.
- Harass, abuse, threaten, or harm others.
- Upload content that infringes someone else's rights.
- Share confidential information you are not allowed to disclose.
- Attempt to reverse engineer, disrupt, or misuse the app or AI provider.
6. Subscriptions, Trials, and Billing
Should I Quit may offer paid auto-renewable subscriptions through Apple's in-app purchase system.
Current planned subscription options are:
- Yearly subscription: $39.99 per year, with a 3-day free trial where offered.
- Monthly subscription: $9.99 per month, no free trial unless otherwise shown in the app.
Prices, trial availability, and subscription terms may vary by country, currency, tax rules, promotion, or App Store configuration. The exact price and terms shown in Apple's purchase sheet govern your purchase.
Subscriptions automatically renew unless canceled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period, or as otherwise provided by Apple. Apple handles billing, renewals, cancellations, and refunds. You can manage or cancel your subscription through your Apple ID subscription settings.
Deleting the app does not cancel your subscription.
7. Refunds
Purchases made through the App Store are handled by Apple. Refund requests must be submitted to Apple, and Apple's refund rules apply.
8. Local Data and Deletion
Should I Quit is currently local-first and does not require an account. Your entries and app data are stored on your device unless you use features that require external processing, such as the AI coach.
You can clear coach history or delete all app data from Settings. Deleting local app data does not cancel your Apple subscription.
9. App Availability and Changes
We may modify, suspend, or discontinue parts of the app at any time. We may release updates, add or remove features, change pricing, or change subscription offerings.
We will try to avoid disrupting paid access unfairly, but we do not guarantee that every feature will always remain available.
10. Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- Use the app for unlawful, harmful, fraudulent, or abusive purposes.
- Interfere with or disrupt the app, servers, networks, subscriptions, or security systems.
- Attempt to bypass payment, entitlement, or access controls.
- Copy, modify, reverse engineer, or create derivative works from the app except where allowed by law.
- Use the app to collect or process other people's personal information without permission.
11. Intellectual Property
Should I Quit, including its design, software, branding, and content, is owned by LP Apps or its licensors and is protected by intellectual property laws.
These Terms do not transfer ownership of the app or our intellectual property to you.
12. Third-Party Services
The app relies on third-party services, including Apple services for App Store distribution, purchases, subscriptions, device permissions, notifications, and speech recognition, and OpenAI for AI coach responses.
Third-party services are governed by their own terms and policies. We are not responsible for third-party services outside our control.
13. Disclaimers
Should I Quit is provided "as is" and "as available." To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim warranties of any kind, whether express, implied, or statutory, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, availability, and non-infringement.
We do not guarantee that the app will be uninterrupted, error-free, secure, or that its outputs will be accurate or useful for your circumstances.
14. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, LP Apps will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, lost data, lost employment opportunities, employment disputes, career outcomes, emotional distress, or decisions you make based on the app.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim related to the app will not exceed the amount you paid for Should I Quit in the 12 months before the claim, or $100, whichever is greater.
Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations of liability, so some of these limits may not apply to you.
15. Indemnity
You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless LP Apps from claims, damages, liabilities, losses, and expenses arising from your misuse of the app, your content, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of another person's rights.
16. Termination
You may stop using the app at any time. We may suspend or terminate access if you violate these Terms, misuse the app, create risk for us or others, or if we discontinue the app.
Sections that by their nature should survive termination will survive, including intellectual property, disclaimers, limitation of liability, indemnity, and governing law.
17. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of Portugal, without regard to conflict-of-law principles, except where local law or mandatory consumer protection rules require otherwise.
18. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the effective date and, where appropriate, notify you in the app or through the App Store.
Your continued use of the app after the updated Terms take effect means you accept the updated Terms.
