Privacy Policy
Effective date: June 25, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how LP Apps ("Should I Quit," "we," "us," or "our") handles information when you use the Should I Quit mobile app.
1. What Should I Quit Does
Should I Quit helps you reflect on whether to stay in or leave your job by logging how work feels over time, tracking patterns, and optionally using an AI coach to discuss your entries.
Should I Quit is not a medical, mental health, financial, legal, or career-counseling service. Do not use it as a substitute for professional advice.
2. Information You Provide
Depending on how you use the app, you may provide:
- Profile details, such as your name, current role, tenure, and what matters most to you at work.
- Workday entries, including scores, factors that helped or hurt, notes, dates, and trends.
- Reminder preferences, such as selected weekdays and reminder time.
- Coach chat messages, if you use the AI coach.
- Images or screenshots you choose to send to the coach.
- Voice input, if you use speech-to-text to dictate notes or coach messages.
- Purchase information needed to confirm subscription access.
3. Information Stored on Your Device
Should I Quit is designed to be local-first. Your profile, entries, reminder preferences, and coach chat history are stored on your device unless you choose to send content to the AI coach.
We do not currently provide account creation, cloud sync, or a remote user database.
If you delete the app, the data stored by the app on your device may be deleted by iOS. If you use the in-app "Delete all data" option, the app deletes your profile, entries, reminders, and coach history from that device. Your Apple subscription status is managed separately by Apple.
4. AI Coach
If you use the AI coach, your coach messages and relevant app context may be sent to our AI service provider so the coach can respond. This may include:
- Your message text.
- Images or screenshots you choose to attach.
- Relevant profile details, such as your name, role, tenure, what matters to you at work, and onboarding score.
- Recent entry summaries, such as average scores and common work factors.
These requests are routed through a proxy server we operate (hosted on Cloudflare) so we can protect our AI provider credentials and limit abuse. The proxy attaches a random per-installation identifier that is used only for rate limiting and is not linked to your identity.
The current AI provider is OpenAI. OpenAI may process and retain API inputs and outputs according to its own policies. According to OpenAI's API data controls documentation, data sent to the OpenAI API is not used to train or improve OpenAI models unless the API customer explicitly opts in. OpenAI may retain abuse-monitoring logs, which can include prompts, responses, and related metadata, for up to 30 days by default, unless longer retention is required by law or reasonably necessary to protect OpenAI's services or others from harm.
Do not send sensitive information to the coach unless you are comfortable with it being processed by our AI provider. This includes highly sensitive employment information, confidential employer data, medical information, financial account details, government IDs, or other private information.
5. Voice Input and Microphone
If you use voice input, the app requests microphone permission to record what you say. The recording is sent to our AI provider (OpenAI), through our Cloudflare proxy, to transcribe it into text for your notes or coach messages. That audio is handled under OpenAI's retention policies described above. We do not access the microphone unless you tap a voice input control.
6. Photos and Screenshots
If you choose to attach an image or screenshot to a coach message, the app stores that image in your local coach history and sends it to the AI provider with your message so the coach can respond. The app only accesses images you select.
7. Notifications
If you enable reminders, the app uses local notifications to remind you to log your workday. Reminder settings are stored on your device. We do not use reminders for advertising or tracking.
8. Purchases and Subscriptions
Subscriptions are purchased through Apple's in-app purchase system. Apple processes payment information, manages billing, and provides subscription status to the app. We do not receive or store your full payment card details.
Apple's handling of App Store and payment information is governed by Apple's own terms and privacy policies.
9. Analytics, Advertising, and Tracking
Should I Quit currently does not use third-party advertising SDKs, cross-app tracking, or third-party analytics SDKs.
If this changes, we will update this Privacy Policy and any required App Store privacy disclosures.
10. How We Use Information
We use information to:
- Provide the app's logging, trend, and reminder features.
- Generate AI coach responses when you choose to use the coach.
- Maintain subscription access.
- Improve, debug, and secure the app.
- Comply with legal obligations.
We do not sell your personal information.
11. When Information Is Shared
We share information only as needed to operate the app:
- With OpenAI, when you use the AI coach or voice transcription.
- With Cloudflare, which hosts the proxy server that routes AI requests and stores per-install rate-limit counters.
- With Apple, for purchases, subscriptions, system permissions, and App Store distribution.
- With service providers or authorities if required for security, fraud prevention, legal compliance, or protection of rights.
12. Retention and Deletion
Local app data remains on your device until you delete it, delete the app, or iOS removes it.
AI coach content sent to OpenAI is handled according to OpenAI's retention policies. Apple-managed subscription records are handled by Apple.
You can clear coach history or delete all app data from Settings. You can manage or cancel subscriptions through your Apple ID subscription settings.
13. International Use
Should I Quit is operated from Portugal and may be used worldwide. If you use the app outside Portugal, your information may be processed in countries other than where you live, including countries where Apple, OpenAI, or other service providers operate.
14. Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect information. No app, device, network, or online service can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
15. Children
Should I Quit is not intended for children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information through the app, contact us at kildegaardp@gmail.com.
16. Your Rights
Depending on where you live, including in the European Economic Area, United Kingdom, Switzerland, California, or other regions with privacy laws, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or receive a copy of personal information, or to object to or restrict certain processing. Because the app is local-first, much of your data is controlled directly on your device through app settings.
For privacy requests, contact us at kildegaardp@gmail.com.
17. Changes
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the effective date and, where appropriate, notify you in the app or through the App Store.
